About Department Of Industrial Accidents

Paul Paradis

Department of Industrial Accidents is the main project of Boston, MA. area musician Paul Paradis.

Having one foot planted firmly in the Western European art music tradition and another in the underground/indie music community, Paul's focus with DIA is to combine these two disparate musical impulses into one unified whole, combining compositional techniques drawn from the classical tradition with industrial and jazz influences to create a sound which presents a chaotic and abrasive musical veneer underpinned by a growing mastery of compositional organization. On top of the training he recieved in his formative years, Paul has also been exposed to many different genres and musical artists of various stripes, the most impactful of these being Skinny Puppy, Einsturzende Neubauten, John Coltrane, J.S. Bach, and Alexander Scriabin, among many others.
